The German poker player Christopher Frank ranked among the 2017 WSOP gold bracelet holders, after taking down Event #33 – the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em. The young poker pro conquered the event, which brought him the lion’s share of the guaranteed prize pool, as well as the first gold bracelet in his career so far.
Christopher Frank also became the first German to win a WSOP bracelet in this year’s edition of the Series. The bracelet winners so far come from the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Spain, Russia, Venezuela and India.
The World Series of Poker Event #33 accumulated an overall player field of 1,698 entries, who has been a solid number for Christopher Frank to overcome on his way to victory. Still, at the end, he managed to outlast them all, taking home a monetary prize estimated to $384,833, which is also the best live cash of the player so far.
Up to date, Christopher Frank’s total live earnings amount to $1,498,602. He has a total of 9 WSOP cashes, estimated to a total of $487,859, with the first-place prize being the most considerable part of them. Until winning the 2017 WSOP Event #33, Frank’s largest payment in a live tournament amounted to $168,540, generated in 2013 for his sixth position in the EPT-9-UKIPT-3-London £5,250 No Limit Hold’em – EPT Main Event.
Cash prizes were distributed between 258 players out of the registered 1,698.
After securing his victory, the 22-year-old player commented on his first-place ranking, saying it was a good feeling, especially considering the fact he had been taking part in the live circuit events for quite some time now. He also confessed he had been dreaming of winning a big poker event for years, and he was happy to had finally done that.
Only 22 players managed to get to the third and last day of the Event #33. Soon enough, their number had been reduced to 10, forming the unofficial final table. After Kami Hudson got eliminated in 10th place only half an hour later, the remaining nine players formed the final table of the event, which however was not easy for Christopher Frank. The young player did not find it easy to overcome the competition at the event’s final table, especially considering the fast-paced game. The final table play lasted approximately four hours, with the players being eliminated quickly.
